IT'S SCHOLARSHIP TIME AGAIN!
If you have a graduating high daughter,
son, grandchild, niece or nephew or any other relative to you that
is going on to higher learning, they are eligible to apply for a
Chapter 779, $500 Scholarship.
What we need, a letter of acceptance from either the college,
university or trade school stating that this person has been
accepted for the 2007-2008 school year. We also need a 500 word
essay, (not longer then 600 words or shorter then 400 words). The
essay should be written on " What that person sees the
differences are between the Vietnam War and the Iraq / Afghanistan
Wars are." Essays, and copy of letter of acceptance should
be sent to the chapter mail box address by no later then April 2,
2007 postmark date in order to be eligible. The VVA 779 member
related to the student must also be a member in good standing and
should also be listed on a sheet of paper with membership number
accompanying the students essay.
HARD TO BELIEVE BUT ELECTIONS
ARE HERE AGAIN. ALL OFFICER POSITIONS ARE UP FOR GRABS!
That's right, it will be two years since
our current list of officers have been elected. It goes to show when
your officers do a good job, time flies. If you are interested in
applying for an office within Chapter 779 you must file a letter of
intent first. That letter should state the date you are applying,
the office you are applying for and be signed by yourself. You must
be a VVA Chapter member in good. The letters of intent must be
received by Herb Worthington no later then April 14, 2007. It can be
mailed. faxed, handed to Herb or sent to the Chapter PO Box. If
mailed, its Post Office stamp can be no later then 4-12-07.
