PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Greetings,

Congratulations to the newly elected officers for the chapter!  I look forward to working with everyone again for the next two years, thanks!

The Moving Wall Ceremony held this past weekend at Kean University/Liberty Hall was a memorable event.

The utmost respect, pride and consideration was give to the men and women whose names are on the wall.  I would like to thank Kean, all the volunteers and certainly the members of this chapter that helped to make this weekend a time of remembrance and continued acknowledgement that the Vietnam Veteran and the sacrifices made will never be forgotten!

We are also expecting some new members to join us from this past event and we welcome them to the chapter.

This weekend, Sunday, May 27th, we are scheduled to march in the Rahway Annual Memorial Day Parade.  We ask that you be in Rahway by 12:30 pm.  We will gather in the parking lot of City Call, located on Main Street before lining up in the procession.  It is my hope that many of you will turn out to help represent the chapter.

The following weekend, June 1 - 3, 2007, we will be in Wildwood, New Jersey.  The color guard will represent Linden Elks Lodge Post #287.  More detailed information will be given at the meeting.

We are still looking for new members to join the color guard.  We participate in many events and the more members  we have help to allow for rotation.  Again, do not let the cost of the uniform be the reason for you not to join.

We are still seeking members for out chapter.  Pass the word!  Chapter #779 is a great chapter, actively involved in the affairs of the surrounding communites.

See you at the meeting on Thursday @ 7:00 pm

In loving service

Willie Mitchell
